the colour orange was named after the fruit. because it has got the same shades of colour as the fruit orange.

good question id guess the fruit was named after the colour and after the colour was named if that makes sense !!!! i don't know lol !!!!!!!

neither I'd say. It probably started off as some horrible little brown crusty thing and then over millions of years evolved in to what we have now.
