Isn't it SCARY!?

I hear ya!!! Not to be a snot, but that's why you'll never see me post a question like that. I just ask the silly ones. It is very scary, when they have the time to ask a question and wait for some idiotic answer, and then ask it again or a different question all together...Instead of taking the poor animal to a vet. Let just hope they don't ask a serious question when a family (human) member gets hurt. Then we have some problems with a duma$$.

What's scarier to me is that people don't realize that if you don't have the finances you shouldn't get a pet. The care and feeding of pets can really be costly. I make good money and I still cringe when I get the vet bill and this is even AFTER my dog's VIP insurance plan kicks in. (My friend said my dog has better health insurance than she has). They pay a nice percentage, but if your dog gets a bladder infection like mine did and the visit, the sedative they had to give her to get a urine sample and the medication comes to $575 bucks and the insurance reimburses you 80% of that, it means you STILL paid $115 bucks!!! Imagine if you don't have pet insurance.

Let's not even talk about her yearly shots, the heartworm treatment, her food, her treats, her doggie toys, her boarding when we go out of town.

Don't get a pet people if you aren't willing to lay out the cash or can't afford to when your pet needs to see the vet!!!

I sure feel bad for their dogs!

My least favorite are the people who ask, "My dog has had bloody diarrhea and vomiting for a week. Is there any home remedy I can try?"

A close second is, "My Chihuahua fell off the back of the couch and he's been limping for a few days now. What kind of medication can I give him? Aspirin or ibuprofen?"

HaHa! I agree whole-heartedly! Some people just really don't need an animal. I think that it should be required that people take a dog education course before adopting/buying a pet.

Most definitely! Like I always say being a pet owner should require a license, and you should have to prove financial responsibility for their care and upkeep, and any unexpected emergency vet visit!
