Should Children with ADD/ ADHD bring Acohol Drinks too School?

I really see your point here, it seems we are living in a world where medication fixes everything. Everyone is on meds to suppress depression, add, adhd, maybe doctors should take a look at maybe it is ok to be upset sometimes, or fidgety, or hyper. Everyone is unique and shouldn't be medicated just to be "normal."

Don't get me wrong, some people need to be on medication if they are diagnosed with certain types of depression and such, and I am sure that whatever medication someone is prescribed for ADD will help, but I think that medication is not always the answer doctors should jump to.

I would assume that your statement is intended to be sarcastic towards the medical profession.

The problem with ADD/ADHD is not one that a generalization such as this can solve. Many children are misdiagnosed. Some do not have this problem, despite the diagnosis. Some are correctly diagnosed, and do well on medication.

But what many overlook is that many children with the problem do not take their medication as prescribed. And the results are not as good. But it is hardly the fault of any medication when those for whom it is prescribed do not take it as prescribed. Missing doses, or going days without doses will cause the problem to appear to be "out of control."

The problem is further complicated by the fact that not all schools are cooperative with handling children's medications. There can be legal problems IF someone in the school gives out an improper dose.

So, before we conclude that ADD/ADHD suffers are not being helped, and give up on them, we ought to consider these other facts. Many are being helped; I am one.

I have ADHD and medication does work for my case.. and for basically everyone that I know who has ADD/ADHD.

And what the heck? Kill them off slowly? Medication does work, it may just take time to get the dosage to the correct amount. My medication works perfectly, my dosage just needed to be adjusted once. And also, it can depend on the type of medication given. And those with depression, yet again, depends on the medication. I found a good anti depressant, but I can't remember the name of it at the moment.. but it had very low side effects.

And, first off. I really do think ADD is real. People are quick to judge because they don't know the situation themselves or haven't dealt with it. Yes, many people are incorrectly diangnosed, but that's because the doctors don't look for the correct signs. And also, you *know* if you have ADD once you take the medication, it's extremely obvious. And I wasn't hyperactive, I just couldn't pay attention to my work - and I'm in AP/upper level courses, so it's not like I'm ignorant.

Greetings. Not to sound mean or anything, but were you thinking when you typed this? Maybe you should rethink over what you know about ADD, AD/HD, and depression. Okay, I am rereading what you wrote now, you said "...Children..." Children should NEVER be under the influence. Did you take DARE ever? What about those commercials on T.V.? *shakes head like he's failed* Better luck next time, dude. If there is a next time, that is.

Kids with ADD/ADHD don't need alcohol to medicate them.

Alcochol is a depressant and won't help.It would only make matters worse.I don't know who told you that these kids need alcohol for their ADD but not true.Yes,doctors perscribe medication for ADD and ADHD but not alcohol and if the medication doesn't work they keep trying to find the right one.

NOONE under the age of consent in thier state should ever bring street drugs or alcohol to school for any reason if meds fail call your dr do not resort to self help

Yes, I think for some diagnose ADHD children are simply hyper kids whose parents fail to provide enough stimulation or activity for these kids. We are quick to medicate and over medicate. I think as human beings we have failed these some of these children. I do believe there are true ADHD children and bless them and their parents.

ADD and ADHD are myths, like Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy and global warming. They're designed to give a label to young people who are normal, and to make it look as though there is something wrong with them instead of the system. The medications they give are forms of child abuse.

No one has the right to condem or kill any adhd child .... they are normal human beings that just needs help ........

Hell yes. Everyone should bring alcoholic beverages to school--I mean, why just let the hyperactive kids do it? Isn't that discrimination? I think being buzzed at school would make school so much fun, no one would drop out. Besides, Bush made it through college, and he was stoned--what's a little alcohol amongst school children?
