Minivans are great...if you have kids...but I personally would want an SUV, because it's more like a car...but with more space! I would want a Ford Expedition...for a minivan...I would recommend a Dodge Grand Caravan!

It really comes down to passanger room and gas mileage. Most minivans will accomadate 6 or 7 passengers no problem. Only large SUV's have that ability, most seat 5 or 6. Minivans will get better mpg than most suv's except the micro size ones (Rav4, CRV, Santa FE). Most SUV's will generally have 4wd and the majority of minivans do not, some vans do have awd available for extra charge. Don't plan on going off road in the van. Then there is the "cool" factor, which is pretty obvious between the two.

Models - van - Nissan Quest - about the "coolest" minivan out there, then Honda/Toyota

suv - I'm partial to Jeeps

I prefer minivans over SUVs because they provide slightly better gas mileage, a roomier third row seat, and have less rollovers. Also, inexpensive ones can be excellent values for the amount of space that you're getting.

Also I find that minivans are more space efficient inside than sport utility vehicles.

The Honda Odyssey and Toyota Sienna are the two best minivans out there, although good (and cheaper) alternatives include the redesigned 2006 Kia Sedona, Hyundai Entourage, and Dodge Grand Caravan/Chrysler Town & Country.

I would take the SUV. Why? It has better overall usage. Great in the summer for pulling toys but also great and safe in the winter! My choice? The Volkswagen Touareg. It is available with 3 different engines in the US. (The diesel version will be pre-owned, the EPA didn't like it!) It was Motor Trend's 4x4 of the year in 2004, then in 2005 they left it out of the contest to make it a fair fight. It has so many features and creature comforts that will just blow your mind. Also, because it is a German made vehicle, they thought of everything! The design is well done and all of the "creature comforts" are logically laid out and easy to use. Below I have listed some of my favorite options.

Air Suspension - adjustable to raise or lower the height of the vehicle. With the vehicle raised all the way, you can drive thru 23" of water and you will be totally fine!)

Navigation - Like to know where I am and where I am going.

Horsepower - available up to 310 ponies with a V8

creature comforts galore! - Available heated seats and 4 zone climate control. (all 4 passengers {though it will seat five} can enjoy their own temperature and heat their seat.) Sat Radio and a 300 Watt sound system. Rear locking differential (hey, need to have it if you are serious about off roading) tire pressure monitoring system, the list goes on and on!

Read some old articles for the heck of it!

a honda accord is fantastic i think of. I relatively have 3 good length boys and their friends with us and additionally my nephew. I ave had a minivan yet i got here upon that majority of the time, it grow to be too plenty area for the gas and coverage i grow to be putting in direction of it. so I offered it and have been given a ford concentration and we only come living house from a 4 hour holiday to the Smokey's and the lads not at all as quickly as complained the excellent way interior the backseat of the small motor vehicle. however the trunk is gigantic and it took a tank and a a million/2 (40$) for the holiday which isn't what i might are becoming with the minivan or suv. my boys are 13, 10 and eight only so which you comprehend. whilst they have been little I had a jeep wrangler and a pair of youngsters in motor vehicle seats and groceries and nevertheless controlled. so do what you think of is superb in this annoying financial gadget.

SUV for sure. Only Honda and Toyota make a decent and reliable minivan. Don't waste your money on anything else. I drive a 4 runner. Very versatile, has a tight turning circumference so its maneuverable, very safe and most of all reliable. Also they have a fantastic resale value. Hope this helps!

Ps... 4 runners get 19-26 gas mileage, very comparable. The money you will spend fixing a crappy mini van is NOT any savings in the long run!!!

Depends on what you need it for. I have a large family, a big dog (100#'s) and coach sports so am always hauling gear somewhere.

I do NOT recommend the Chrysler Town & Country. We had one and it was a piece of junk and the customer service was hideous!

I now have a SUV, a Chevy Suburban. I love it however I would not buy one unless you "need" one. It sucks gas and is huge. It works well for large families and hauling soccer/baseball and field hockey gear to matches.

A friend has a Toyota Highlander Hybrid, which is what i would get if my family was smaller. She loves it - traded her minivan in for it. She says it is very comfy with 4 people, a little crowded with 5 on long drives.

SUVs and Minivans are for chumps.

You pay a fortune for gas either way.

Gotta go with the SUV. If money isn't an object go with the original Hummer. Any man is off the chart hot in a Hummer. Just don't get the H2 or H3 ... they're the pussy version.

If I had an infinite amount of money (for a gas guzzling beast) and all that mattered was style? SUV all the way.

For practicality and to keep being able to save money for my kids college tuition? The Bummer of a MiniVan.

    sigh.
