Sure loved 'em when I was a kid...the cheesier, the better.
A few of my favorites:
1. Have to start with "THEM", the classic.
2. Any of the Gamera movies.
3. The 1950's black & white "Flash Gordon". They used a model rocket on a string with a cigarette lighter in the tail for FX...and the flames go straight up and start melting the tail fins...gotta love it!
4. "The Beginning of the End", in which giant grasshoppers terrorize the country. In one scene, the grasshoppers climb a skyscraper in Chicago to get to a loudspeaker that's broadcasting the sound of a female grasshopper in "heat". To make the shot, they just put a picture of the building down and spread sugar up the side...so the grasshoppers would follow. One grasshopper goes off to the side, and starts crawling around among the clouds...LOVE those cheap special effects!

Oh hell, yes. The horror movies especially have the power of making one choke on the popcorn laughing. Things like Attack of the Killer Tomatoes.
Or the great and underappreciated comedy (?) Amazon Women on the Moon. Ever since special effects, we just don't get great cheesy movies anymore.

It was a Friday night tradition in college for us! The cheesier the better... and it had to be horror because then it would keep my annoying roommate away. Years later Mystery Science Theater 3000 started doing the same thing...

Yes!!!
Like the Evil Dead movies, the first one they had to hire 3 different actresses throughout the movie to play the lead actress because they did not have enough money to pay them, that's just funny
