It might be a lame excuse but is the Alaska pipeline shutdown the cause of higher gas prices?

I find irony in the fact that no one wants to do any oil production in Alaska, UNTIL it stops then when you find out its going to hit you in the pocket book OH its another attempt by Bush Cheney & big oil to seperate you from your check .

Ohh and for those who say we dont use any of the oil from Alaksa , guess again there is only 1 refinery in the world that can crack the high sulfur crude and its in california

If you live on the West coast of the US, up to 60% of your oil supply may come from that pipeline, so obviously prices are going to go up

Crude went up atleast $2.50 a barrel. 8% of the U.S. supply comes from the oil field, so it will have an impact.

I doubt it as none of our oil comes from there! One-third of ours comes from Canada, 1/3 comes from Mexico!
