Hi everyone. I have a coin that I need some help with?
It is a small hobby of mine.
On the front of the coin there is a man sitting holding a small flag. There are 13 stars around him.
On the back it says United States of America. There is a wreath and in the middle of the wreath it say one dime.
The date on this coin is 1857.
Can anyone tell me if this coin is worth anything and does the 13 stars on this coin mean states?

1857 Dime in very-good is worth $17.50
The 13 stars do stand for th original 13 states.
The mintmark would be located within or below the wreath if it's blank it is from Philadelphia if you see a "O" then it is New Orleans and worth exactly the same. in lower grades.

It's not a guy it's lady liberty. The 13 stars are for the original 13 colonies. Check out this pic and see if it matches.

As for the value you can now look up coin prices and they can vary depending on the condition yours is in. Then go from there. The website above also has a "value" link on the bottom of the first page that explains how value is assesed.
