Question about bottles...?
When should I change the nipple on my Avent bottles from 1 to 2?
My son is now 11 weeks old (about 2 1/2 moths)
I'm not breastfeeding... And he is not taking cereal yet....

you'll have to study how your son drinks milk. if he seems to have a difficult time or is getting frustrated, it may be time to change. you can try stage 2 and see if he can handle the faster flow of the milk.
my eldest, strictly followed the stage 2 at 1 mo, stage 3 at 3mos and stage 4 at 6 mos. however, my youngest, now at 7 mos (using rubber nipples - not avent) is still using the small nipples. whenever i try moving him to medium (recommended for 3-mo old babies) seems that he is drowning in milk. he pedia said, its really up to the baby, just try periodically and see when he can handle the larger nipples

It all depends on how fast the baby is drinking the milk. If on the size 1 the baby is sucking really hard. The Size 2 might be a little easier and it also depends on if u are putting the baby cereal in it.
If that is the case. Then the Size 2 should be fine for the baby. Because my son started to take the cereal at 2 1/2 months and i had to change the nipple

You didn't say whether or not you were breastfeeding your baby along with the bottles. If you are, you should not change the nipple size because it makes the bottle so much easier than the breast. If you are strictly bottle-feeding the recommended age to change to stage 2 is three months. Follow your baby's cues-if your son seems satisfied with the flow there is no reason that you must change the nipple size. He will let you know!

Usually you will change their nipples every three months. I have a five month old and I should change to a 2 but I keep him on the 1 because he still gags a little when I feed him. Look at the package it should tell you but it usually is around three months.

It should say on the package what size goes with what age. Probably when he can sit up, that's usually when you go to level 2 with other brands. You can also check their website. Good luck.
