What happens after your 3rd DUI?

Ok so my friend just got arrested for her 3rd DUI last week. My mom says thats a year in jail. Her bail is 3500. If she pays that bail is she out or is she still having to sit a year?

Okay, first and foremost it depends on what state you live in. A lot of states no longer have ANY tolerance for first offense DUI, let alone the 3rd. I would say above and beyond anything else, she is in some pretty deep ****. Your mom could be right, in addition to the jail time she is looking at, at least $2000.00 in fines and fees. In addition to either having her license suspended for quite a long time or permanately taken away, if it hasn't already been.

Okay, you can bail her out and they will release her as long as she has no outstanding warrants. She will then be issued a court date, and then from there, obviously a sentencing hearing unless they do it all in one. Again, depending on you live all depends on how long the entire process takes, but it could take a couple of months. If she is not bonded out, then yes...she will sit and wait until all is said and done, she gets sentenced and sent to prison.

Hope this was of some help.

Well probably a suspended license, maybe jail time or community service,

    probation..

she will probably have to go to some kind of rehab, or classes, it depends on the state,

she won't sit a year the jails are too crowded, but she may have to do some time,,,

Tell her to buy a van when this i s all o ver, or quit drinking get help

she is putting the PEOPLE ON THE HIGHWAY AT RISK,,

    that is the bad part,,

    and sad part.

Bail only gets you out until your trial date. Then they'll determine guilt and sentencing.
