News Media: Information or Speculation? Discuss?

It seems with all the 24 hour news channel, rather than being more informed, we are subjected to perhaps 6 hours of actual news and 18 hours of talking head "what-if" scenarios. Would you like to see more information or more debate, and why?

I just like the facts, not the hype. But they have to fill the airtime and so they go on and on and on and on............

There is no such thing as REAL news on any of the TV or Cable networks. Everything is sanitized and dumbed down so Americans can understand it since most of them don't have CLUE of anything in a foreign country, culture or language.

When I first moved back to the U.S. I was absolutely appauled by how little news Americans get. There isn't any. If I do watch TV news, I watch the BBC news, channel 135 on DishTV and I read the foreign newspapers on the web. If the news has something to do with anything south of the border I watch HITN or Univision to get the REAL truth of what is happening and not the 'American' version which is so slanted towards the administration that it's worthless.

I think the "fill in" time on these news stations are getting out of hand! I use this time to read news on the Internet from as many different perspectives as I can find.

We are all so jaded with news that it takes something sensational to capture views and readers.
