Steerage, was the slang word to describe third class passengers on a ship (eg: the titanic), they were offered little in the way of washroom facilities, no privacy, and poor food.

Sort of like "economy class", or the working class.

this was the lowest deck level of the ship, which during the 18th & 19th century was the only way people could afford to immigrate.

it is no longer used...those travelling on ships, have better accomodations now a days.

steerage is the cheapest way to travel by ship ( I just had to let you know someone else knows what it means)

However, I'm not sure about the answer. I don't think so though.

except for the "mysterious fog" and "(insert time)" and "he had for little ones:" it truly is merely about a probability. evidently that you copied some tale you found. the way you describe the potatoe famine isn't traditionally best. certain, the deliver's ceiling holds were in straightforward words 5' intense. yet, for sure, maximum men were only slightly more effective than 5' tall, and women folk were a lot less that 5' tall. at the same time as i replaced into in intense college, maximum persons men had to bow our heads anytime we stood up on the faculty buses. With some modifying, fantastically to best historic, omission, and gramatical blunders, you've a reliable tale.
