It is so sad that people feel the need to kill for no reason. I too saw the segment and was shocked that anyone would want to kill such a beautiful animal. They should be left alone to live as they are without fear of being shot on by some moron with a gun who thinks "yeah this will look good on the wall". I only wish that the bears could have guns to shoot back, unrealistic I know, but wouldn't that teach the hunters.

I was just up in Alaska on vacation a few days ago and learned that bear, wolves, moose and caribou all get hunted far more than it seems necessary. In one case, I was told that hundreds of wolves are planned to be killed so that caribou herds increase... so that hunters can shoot the caribou!
On the positive side, in 10 days in Alaska, I saw black bear, grizzly bear, moose, caribou, bald eagles, humpback whales, sea otters, beavers, puffins, seals, sea lions, wolves and a weasel in the wild, which was pretty amazing. The scenery was great, too.
Let the animals live and do their thing. If the occasional human wanders into the wrong spot and gets killed by a mountain lion or other animal, we have to remember that we are the ones on the animal's turf.

It's sad but there are times that the bear or other population becomes more than the area can support, and it becomes dangerous.

That is sad, after all this is their home, people that live there should be able to live with them and the risks or move.
