Does anyone hate automated robots on the other end of a phone line?

Or do you think that they are excellent and a sure sign of progress and growth. Historical details that mark the evolution of man.

Or do you feel enraged when you are forced to sit on the other end of a hone line and are forced to speak to one of these things becaue you have no other option.

Would you like to blow an air horn into the reciever?

Update:

The above word was misspelled. Where it says "hone", it was supposed to say phone.

Update 2:

And "because", sorry.

There is nothing more annoying than calling somewhere only to hear an automated recording. I *hate* it. When I dial a number I want to talk to a real, live, *thinking* human being who just *might* have some empathy.

I realize that automation is much cheaper for companies, but I seriously think that saving money is a poor excuse. I'd rather pay more and put customer service back into the equation because I think in the long run, they'll lose money by using machines instead of people.
