Agree or Not: Is two-timing so common among Filipino guys?

Is it because of the ratio between women and men is way too big (3:1), or is it considered a macho thing? I've heard enough LoveNotes and read Dear Emily posts and this seems to be such a common phenomenon. I myself was cheated on once or twice.

Are our men raised up believing that cheating is acceptable?

I know, I know, I should not generalize and single out Pinoy guys. But prove me wrong then.....

I disagree that it's common among Filipino guys having 2-3 girlfriends at a time. There might be some who do it but it's nothing different from guys of any nationality. Women can even do that to guys. That's a choice that anybody can be, not just Pinoys.

The above poster had a good point. If you're a young able-bodied female (say around mid 20s) and there's a teenage boy (say 17) sitting on the metro, who perhaps is constantly being reminded in school about women's equality, then what is his incentive to stand up and let you take his seat? But I totally, totally feel that men should offer their seats to old ladies or elderly in general. And I would definitely support giving up one's seat for a pregnant woman. It is totally rude for a young man to stay seated while an elderly person, a pregnant woman, a much older woman, somebody very overweight, etc. is standing. My parents are both from Egypt but I was born here. In Egypt most people ride public transportation, and whenever there's an older woman or pregnant lady most of the times people will give up their seats to accommodate them. of course, I cannot speak for the Filipino guys. It would be sad if what you're saying is the case. I am in full support of that kind of chivalry, myself, and I think that it's good for men and women.

I can't say it's true for all Filipino men but I have some uncles where it seems to run in their side of the family. From the stories my mom tells me, it seems that cheating is learned from their own relatives (ie, Father cheats, oldest sons starts cheating, younger brother starts cheating, etc). Like I said before, I can't say it's true for all Filipino men.

I recently found out that my uncle from California went back home to the Philippines and married another woman (while he is still married to my aunt). Turns out, all of his brothers also have secret families/wives in the Philippines. Guess monogamy isn't big with them.

Btw, most of the woman besides their wives (like sisters and mothers) don't really do anything about it. I've even seen a mother let the 2nd wife live in her home with her.

not all. I am a filipino male and I have never two timed on any of my relationships. I've been married for 3years and cheating have never once crossed my mind. I took an oath that I would honor and cherish my wife and I stick to that religiously...

I cant speak for the majority of the pinoys but it sickens me when I hear guys boasting about their cheating ways and justify it as "macho"....I am a proud pinoy but disguisted about this type of typical actions of the filipino male...

I don't know if it is very common, but it seems to be accepted more than other places. A survey in this month's Marie Claire (I know--not very scientific) showed that over half of men here cheat.

I do find that (compared to the states) the women here seem to tolerate their husband/boyfriend cheating more. I am also surprised that these women who date the cheating men (knowing they are married or in a relationship) are okay with taking someone elses used goods.

Yes it's very common, based on my experienced, I'm married to an American guy and he's my first boyfriend and now my husband, I was soo afraid to have a filipino boyfriend coz I can just see with my two brothers and father and my guy friends who they are!Don't get me wrong,I love them but it seems like they are getting their satisfaction when they hooked lots of women,it's like testing their manhood with how many women they can have, it's sad but it's true, but of course i'm not saying it in general but based on my experience.

I am married to my wife for eigth years and she is still the most beautiful girl for me. But you also need to consider other factors.

    1. Maybe youre boyfriend is unresistable from other women.

    2. He does not really love you.

    3. If he can have 2 for the price of one.

If he really loves you and he may just using the other girl for past time or is it the other way around? He may come back to you if the former applies.

One more thing. Filipinas are very beautiful both inside and out so it is very difficult to resist them sometimes.

I wish you can find another one just like me. hahaha

i think not only Filipinos do such a thing... Men are naturally like this but anyway, as long as they can take advantage on cheating, they would.. SOmetimes not only two-timing but three-timing, six-timing, and so on....

They are all perverts there, they rape the kids in there family and share the neighbors. They will drag a girl from the street and know if they have money alls good there, the police only accept cash and can be bought for $20. They need chemical castration for these guys it's so bad there.
