You may not have a virus... but you certainly have adware or spyware on your computer. These days Anti-virus programs can't do the trick by themselves. Your best bet is to download a program like AdAware http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/ that will scan your computer for things like adware and spyware that McAfee can't detect. Good Luck!

I recommend anti-spyware software like Adaware or Spybot. I believe both of them are free and you can download Adaware from www.lavasoft.de.
Also, you can install a free version of Zone Alarm firewall and whenever some third party program will try to connect to the internet you can track it, locate the malicious program, and delete it.
Finally, you should go through the registry of startup programs and delete whichever ones are not supposed to be there. If you go to Start ->RUn and type in 'regedit' it will open Registry editor. Then, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> Software -> Microsoft -> Windows -> Current Version -> Run. Google every suspicious entry and if it is in fact some sort of malware delete it.

It seems that you are a victim of adware.
Adware Definition:
"Software that periodically pops up advertisements on a user's computer. It displays ads targeted to the individual user based on key words entered in search engines and the types of Web sites the user visits. The marketing data is collected periodically and sent in the background to the adware Web server. Adware is known as "contextual marketing." -- answers.com
Antivirus software programs are good for detecting and removing viruses but less effective for adware and/or spyware. Try downloading and installing anti-spyware applications like Lavasoft's Ad Aware and Spybot Search & Destroy. You can find these programs at: http://www.filehippo.com/software/antispyware/
After installing these two programs, update them. For instructions for using Ad Aware and Spybot, Malware Help have two excellent articles to illustrate how to use them:
1. Ad Lavasoft's Aware - http://www.malwarehelp.org/how-to-effectively-remo...
1. Spybot Search & Destroy - http://www.malwarehelp.org/how-to-effectively-remo...

First of all, I've heard that McAfee isn't the best protection...Try one of the free ones, like: Avast! or AVG (just do a dot com after each to find it, and install after uninstalling McAfee)...
Then go to firefox.com and install a new browser from Mozilla...These guys know their stuff...IE is always giving everyone troubles...That's when I decided to look around for better stuff...
Good luck with your move! I'm sure happy with mine!

First, i might DISABLE equipment fix, this might forestall the off danger of a few thing else being further lower back from an earlier keep. it rather is often carried out via going to the administration PanelSystem PropertiesSystem RestoreDisable equipment....etc. next, reboot into "secure Mode with Networking" (F8 after BIOS reveal). Then acquire Lavasoft advert-conscious or Spybot S&D (in my opinion, i might acquire the two.) deploy and enable them to run its direction. when you wiped clean up your equipment with those procedures, acquire Microsoft Antispyware to help forestall this from taking place agian.

Sounds like you've got an adware infection. Try installing and running any/all of these programs:
