I need references to go birdwatching in Thailand with a resonable price and a knowledgeable guide. Someone?

I recently moved into Thailand and as a birdwatching lover, I've been trying to find the way of seen some of the spectacular sites in this great country.

But everyone treat me like a rich "falan" and try to charge me in between $500 to $1000 for a guided weekend.

I'm a professional birding guide from Costa Rica with almost 20 years of experience in all latin america, north america and some caribbean islands, so, I know there is always somehow you can go find birds with more logical people who share the pasion on it...

If anybody could give me tips or experiences about it, I'll highly appreciated and will be happy to exchange info about birds from American Continent and - now - from Hong Kong and Indonesia as well, since I was over there for 6 months on my way to Thailand ( job reasons ) and spended good time to see birds in this two - nice - sites... thanks

Sam Roi Yod is a perfect place to study birds. In Hua Hin you find the Skanditours agency. They have guides for this topic and area.

Price around 100$ for a weekend.

But sure someone want to cheat the farang, because -we in their eyes is so stupid. Thai like Thais - so it is.

You might find the most rewarding place to go birdwatching is in Cambodia, near the Angkor temples. There are several designated biospheres there with extremely rare species of birds - if you check the latest edition of Lonely Planet Cambodia, they have a few paragraphs about it. You could get a flight from Bangkok to Siem Reap (the town nearest the temples) with BangkokAir.com

Otherwise, one of the best national parks in Thailand is Khao Sok, near Phuket. I'm not sure if it's specifically good for birdwatching, but it's one of the best habitats for nature left in the country, so it might have what you need.

Why don't you just buy a birdwatcher's guide for Costa Rica and go on your own merry way? If you are a professional bird watcher, why ask in here for that information? You really are not making sense outside of, trying to not spend money.

The most reasonably priced way to get a pet is at the animal shelter. There are many lab/mix dogs in our animal shelter.I paid $55 for adoption fees for my little girl, but, she isn't a lab. My lab cost me $180 for airfare, from Boston to Florida. However, consider every other cost that comes along with owning the dog. These may not always be cheap. To care for any pet the way it deserves to be cared for costs a good bit of money.
