I just got a new car. The radio reception is very bad. Why is this?

Is it from the antenna or the actual radio? What can I do to improve the reception?

2 things....in the back of your cd player the antennae might be loose. You (or someone who might know more), will need to pull the cd player out and check to make sure the antennae's plug is tight and secure.

Or, simply check your outside antennae and see if it's broken or cracked....sounds to me like the first option......good luck

If the antenna is okay, the radio may need trimming. Some radio's have a small grub screw at the back of the radio (depending on the type) that can be tweaked with a watch repairers screwdriver. This will of course involve removing the radio from the dashboard.

Hi. Make sure the antenna is connected to the back of the radio. Check the wiring to make sure you have a good ground. Play a tape or CD to check the speakers. Good luck!

    it's probably the antenna

could b the wiring on the radio - or radio to the antenna...but it's unlikely...

try goin into an open space (in case ur in a city) with little interference...or otherwise go to radio shack and get a more powerful antenna or an amplifier....best $2,50 you'll spend!

You didn't say if the car/radio were new, or supplied together or put together by some cowgirl. It is usually the antenna cable that is faulty. Get a new one fitted

first of all, see if the antenna is connected right. if it is take out the radio and call the maker and send it out to check everything

the antenna may be unplugged from the radio

Could be that the antenna hasn't been properly connected.
