Is a job at Best Buy worth it?
Is getting a job at Best Buy worth the discounts and money? And even if it isn't, how would one go about getting a job there, aside from filling out and application?

If you are out of work, and you need the money to sustain yourself, a job at Best Buy is worth it. Any job is worth it. Any job you take will teach you something. You learn by doing and by making mistakes. So ,Yes the Best Buy job is worth it.
The way to get a job there is to dress appropriately and go apply. Get to know the sales people and managers. Talk to them. Tell them you would be interested in working there when a position becomes available. Do a little studing up on some of the products. When talking to them let them know you have abilities to answer the customers questions and sell to the people. Apply at several Best Buy stores and other like businesses.
It is you that makes the job work for you. It is not the job that works for you. You yourself determines if it is worth it. You might find out that you like what you do there. Then again you may find out you don't. But that is worth it as you will then know you don't like it. Then again you may love it.
I know I like shopping there because most of the sales people are well trained, and knowledgeable, about the products. If you are one of those people you will do very well.
Go try it.

haha altough the answers above are funny. It would be worth it if you like retail. Selling things and helping people out. The discounts are sweet especially when you get open box items or just have connections. Make friends with the higher people and they'll hook you up!

If you are up for going to work at a place with people who think they know what they are talking about when it comes to electronics,if you like constant very loud noises and customers every where, then go for it. I think Circuit City is better because it isn't as busy and loud as Best Buy.

Best Buy sucks. Circuit City pays more starting out. And you get pretty good discounts and plenty of hours. But depends on whether you are talking warehouse or store. I've worked both. I prefer warehouse because you don't have to handle customers. Call them and ask to speak to manager or supervisor.
