Explain the math behind the answers to some of those crazy probability problems?

Like the birthday problem, or the Monty Hall problem, or any other bizarre problems you have heard of. Please give solid, understandable explanations.

NOTE: You do not have to explain probability...that's less fun. It's all those situations where the answer if couterintuitive that are interesting.
