If you cried, but your son didn't cry, then you've done a good job. You've shown him that it's OK for him to be away from you, and he trusts that you'll be back. And I'm not sure that any mother out there dropped off her baby for the first time and didn't have at least a little tear in her eye. Congrats on raising a well-adjusted child.

My son starts preschool on Sept 5th and I feel the same way! I know that he will just run and never look back...and I'm so glad that I have a son who is so outgoing and confident, but at the same time I am so SAD to see him growing up! I know he can't stay little forever, but it's so HARD to accept sometimes. I do feel your pain...and joy! Good luck in all your son's preschool adventures!

Not hard to send her, it was very hard to PICK her up - my daughter was crying when I was picking her up from daycare first three days - she liked it too much. (Uhm,.... THAT made me feel like s***, honestly). She stopped crying once she realized she'll be coming more often....
