What do you think about bald babies?
What do you think about shaving a babies head so more hair will grow? My husband tried to do that to my 2 girls, but I told him he was crazy!

It would seem that your husband is indeed a bit misguided when it comes to shaving and hair growth. Shaving definitely does not cause more hair to grow (see link below)

LOL
I've heard this theory, too. I think it's very popular in China. I know my brother-in-law's aunt adopted a little girl from China, and when she was 1, the orphanage shaved her head. I always thought this was an old wives tale.
We have a 2 1/2 year old who screams and thrashes when we take him to have his hair cut. His 13 month old brother desperately needed one a month or so ago, and my husband suggested we put the #4 guard on his clippers (1/2 inch) and shave the baby's head. It would be easier than taking him to a salon, quicker, and free. I was kind of skeptical...I thought he'd look like a little skinhead or something, lol, but I let my husband do it anyway.
It's been about a month now, and his hair is growing SO fast, and if I'm not mistaken, it's getting MUCH thicker. Plus he looks so sweet with his hair sticking up all over his head. :D
The only drawback I can see to doing this to a child would be since your girls are girls, people might mistake them for little boys, which isn't awful, but it's still not nice.

Bald babies look like babies, without hair of course. And the shaving the head is bs. Tell him to get some common sense.

I have a 3 month old daughter and she is naturally bald. I think she looks beautiful! About shaving babies hair, my mother shaved mine and my siblings when we were babies, but I don't think it makes any difference in how it grows. You just need to agree on something with your husband, and whatever you agree will be just fine!

That doesnt work you need to let it grow in on its own. Also a babies head is way to sensitive to be shaving so I would suggest to not do it again. you should really wait till about 2 years old before you shave a head and even then do you really wnat a bald lil gurl?

I used to think bald babies were the cutest because they had a not-quite-finished look to them but when my niece was born with a full head of thick hair I realized that all babies are beautiful .So just appreciate the way God made her and you will see it doesn't matter how much or how little hair a person has...just concentrate on giving her the best sense of self esteem you can.

I think bald babies are cute.... One of my friends shaved her little girls head when she was 3 months. It looked silly for a few months, now she is 4 and her hair is so long and thick.

shaving a baby's head for non medical reasons as you describe really isnt necessary
if you turn up to any kindergarten you will find that all of the children have hair and that you can not tell which were born with hair and which ones had to wait for it
shaving a baby just puts additional stress and discomfort into a child and there is no evidence that it does anything to stimulate further growth anyway

No shaving babie's heads! Puleeez. A lot of little girls have super fine hair when they are very young, but their hair will grow in just fine. Beautifully, actually.

uhhh, yeah, he's crazy. Don't shave your little girls head! I have 3 of them, and their hair grew in nice a thick. My 4 year old has VERY thick hair all the way down to her butt, and it started out with just a little fine stubble.
