I think whoever gets Alexander and Eli wins this deal, but not by much. RB's get more touches than WR's. Plus Smith now has K. Johnson who will take away some of his catches. Eli will be better this year and he has a lot of weapons with Tiki, Shockey, Burress, and Toomer. Peyton will have a good year, but he will miss Edge. RB's are FF gold.

Keep Manning and Smith. First off Manning is a top 3 quarterback (along with Carson Palmer and Tom Brady). Since James is gone, he will have to depend on passing more than ever. His brother Eli is a top 5 quarterback (4). Steve Smith is arguably the most talented wide reciever in the NFL today. I know that he's been injured for most of training camp but he did well while at camp and with Keyshawn Johnson in Carolina is even more dangerous. Shawn Alexander is not going to put up star numbers (no not because of he Madden curse). For 1 thing his blocker Steve Hutchinson is gone to Minnesota. With Walter Jones the only all-pro blocker left ont he team, there is absolutely NO WAY that Alexander will have an equal or better season than last. When Alexander did what he did last season, he set a higher bar for himself. I think he will miss the mark this year. Overall, both of your players are better than the players you are trading for. Keep Manning and Smith and you will have a great season.

Basically, you'd be trading SA (the #1 or #2 pick overall) for Manning and Smith (#12, #13 picks approx.). Eli doesn't factor into the deal too much.
On the surface, it appears that Peyton/Smith side wins the deal; but SA is such a dominant force at the most important position in FF, I think I'd make the deal to acquire Shaun.
Naturally, who else is on your roster would impact my decision.

Really need to know more details in order to tell you for sure, like whats your leagues scoring, is this a redraft, keeper or dynasty.
keeper or dynasty then the winner is Eli and Alexander
Redraft is much closer and this is where knowing the scoring would help but assuming basic scoring I would take alexander and Eli because I think Smith is a greater injury risk and Eli should put up close to Peytons numbers this yr.

i don't care what these others say but manning will have to pass more and there will be a lot less pressure on smith now that k johnson is there......eli is still learning but alexander is arguably the greatest rb today so i would offer him something else for alexander

Peyton is the best Qb in the game. Steve is the best Wr in the game. Alexander is the second best in the game at RB and eli is like 6th or 7th. WHo ever is letting go mith and peyton is geting ripped off.

This trade doesn't favor anybody unless the othe team has another stud running back to give up someone like Shaun Alexander. If they don't, then they're as dumb as a box of rocks

even with the very undeniable actuality that Tory Holt is undesirable this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days because of a nasty Offensive Line and QB subject matters, and also you'd be getting T.O., Peterson is the superb RB in the league and Kevin Smith is on the breaking point of a 2d string RB (Rudi Johnson should be initiating over him). do not do the commerce. =P

I would say Payton and Smith but it all depends on the scoring in your league. I have been in leagues where you get points for completions, receptions, 100yrs receiving, 300pt passing games and also negative points for fumbles, interceptions, etc.
Some leagues are RB oriented and some are QB oriented. You need to know what you receive points for but in my league it would be an easy choice (Payton & Smith)
