go on the British Horse Society web site - they have various guides that give you phone numbers for doing distant rides just like the one you are proposing. I think they even have a list of approved accomodation sites that offer facilities for your horse.

You might find a link at the Rambler's Association or YHA websites, I thought bridal paths were few and far between though.
