Uranium has 2 Isotopes - U238 and U235, U235 is stable (non radioactive and is 99.3% in natural Uranium. Controlled nuclear reaction depletes the 0.7% of the radioactive U238 to insignificant levels that make the residue Uranium unsuitable for continued reaction, this residue is DU. U238 has a half life of 5000 years approx.

Depends on which isotope you have, but Uranium 238 half life is in the billions of years.

DU is not dangerous and is less "not dangerous" when it reaches its half-life.
