Will Marbury's shoes start a trend?

Stephon Marbury of the New York Knicks is endorsing a new line of kicks (Converse I believe) called Starbury shoes. They retail at $15. That's right fifteen dollars, I didn't misplace a decimal.

Will this change start a ripple effect in the industry that features over-priced Nikes and other brands?

I love the knicks, but think Marbury is a punk and I wish he was gone. I think it is very hard to make a quality shoe that can be sold for such a low price. I am sure there is cheap labor in a 3rd world country to help with that. I have no problem with cheap 3rd world labor, but just wanted to make a point.

    I sure think so.

Shoes are vastly overpriced, when you're paying children in sweatshops pennies a day.

If materialistic children start to talk about the shoes like they're a cheap joke, which is likely then we could see the shoes having less of an effect on the market.

Marbury should be very proud of what he's done.

Cheap shoes have come and gone. I can BET They wont start a trend. I dont think nike and other expensive shoes sneakers are overprice, you get what you pay for. There is a lot of research and work that goes iinto producing those shoes.
