Bodies are cremated at approximately 1800 degrees. The entire process takes about 4 hours from beginning to end. Once the retort is cooled, there are bone pieces that can be as large as a golf ball and so the fragments are placed into a pulverizor and ground to a gravel-like consistency. The remains weigh between 5-7 pounds.
