Crespi Effect?
Does anyone (especially psychology majors, graduate students, and graduates) know about the "Crespi Effect?" It has to do with the influence of incentive on level of performance and distribution of effort within performance in animals.

Learning something to animals is done by giving rewards as an incentive. The Crespi effect is that the size of the reward has little or no influence on the speed of learning, but that it does have an influence on the performance of tasks already learned.
Here is the reference to the original article: Crespi, L.P., Quantitative variation in incentive and performance in the white rat, Am. J. Psychol., 55 (1942) 467-517.
