Don't waste your money when you don't need to. I found that the best bang for the buck is Glenfiddich 12 year hands down. if you want something cheaper get J&B. Old Pulteney is another good one kind of a salty taste too.

My favourite Scotch is the next one. :)

Of the ones that I are within my price range, Glenlivet 15 yr old, French Oak Reserve and Glendronach sherry cask 15 yr old, but it might be a little sweet for some. The Singleton is a favourite as well. As you can see, I like lighter Scotches.

I've had more exclusive/expensive Scotches but not enough to judge.

I wouldn't be angered if a bartender listed Jameson as a Scotch, I'd just think they didn't know what they were talking about.

Any scotch from Islay, but especially Lagavulin and Laphroig.

Yes, I get angered by that sort of thing. A bartender should know the difference between Irish and Scotch whisky.

Favorite scotch has to be Rosebank best independent bottling of it would be a Gordon&MacPhail usually a 16yo. Otherwise I love Dalwhinne 15yo. I have never known a bartender to list Jameson as a scotch, so I don't know if I would be upset about it or not.

My favorite Scotch is any one in my hand.

It really depends on the weather and my mood.

When it's cold and snowy, and I have a fire going, nothing goes better than a Laphroag or a Lagavoulin, but if I'm out with some friends, my favorite is a Glenmorangie 10 year old.

But in all honesty, a blended whisky like Dewars or Johnny Black are great for those everyday, BBQ when ever scotch.

Last one to try is Springbank...

    I'm a Laphroig fan myself.

I don't get angered by the fact they list Jamesons as Scotch, but I do correct there ignorance.

Scotch egg, a boiled egg served wrapped in sausage meat, then dipped in breadcrumbs, and fried.

Scotch pancake, a small, often buttered, sweet pancake served as a teatime dessert.

Scotch whisky, a whisky made in Scotland - commonly abbreviated as "Scotch".

Glenmorangie 12 year matured in sherry wood.

Not angry, just disappointed in the fact that either the bartender or the person who prints the drinks list doesn't know any better.

Mine is John Begg. It's milder than most. My 95 year old great aunt introduced me to it and I've been enjoying it for many years.
