How long is the bus trip from Tel Aviv to Cairo, Egypt, what is the ride like and how much does it cost?

Flying is usually the fastest option and the most hassle free one (even though i heard of hassles at ben gurion airport in tel aviv though but never been there myself)

If you decide to take the bus I'd advise you to catch a bus to Eilat (takes around 5 hours). The buses are very comfortable and you feel like in any western country. The only thing you may find a bit irritating is that many israeli soldiers travel with these buses and they carry big rifles. But then again dont be worried about this, its just a weird sight if you are not used to this. Anyway after your arrival in Eilat get off at the main station and get a bus right to the border (ask people for this even though I found it hard to find english speaking people there) Before you get into egypt pay the egyptian consulate a visit to check if u have a valid visa for egypt and if not to get one (at the taba border crossing they officially dont issue visas for egypt unless you pay them 50 US$ baksheesh (got a very emotional own experience about this arrghh) From the border its about 20 min walk to the taba bus station from where you can get a bus to cairo (takes around 7 hours) Try to be there as early as possible because the morning buses from Taba are the most reliable ones to run, the afternoon ones dont show up very often and youd have to organize your own transport with a taxi and mini bus (which is much more expensive unless you find people to share the ride with) I dont remember the exact amount of how much i payed. In my case the bus didnt show up so i payed i think 100 LE (a rip off!!!!!) for a minibus i shared with 4 palestinians. Usually u shouldnt pay much more than maybe 10 US$ but i really dont remember anymore.
