Andy Pandy was a British children's television series, the original incarnation of which premiered on BBC TV on 11 July 1950, as part of the For the Very Young strand (later Watch with Mother). A puppet who lived in a picnic basket, Andy was later joined by Teddy (a teddy bear) and Looby Loo, a rag doll, who would appear when Andy and Teddy weren't around.
Looking him up, I see that that was the year I was born...So, my answer is no...

yes, I do. I am 56. In fact, my mom always made me these kind of elaborate homemade Halloween costumes and I never won a prize at the Parks and recreation center.
One year, she didn't feel like making it and she bought me a store bought one (I think it was my first)...an Andy Dandy costume. This was when they just had the cheap silk with the plastic mask kind and wouldn't you know it won first prize.
He had a girlfriend, but I forget her name. Do you remember?
(what an off the wall question)

Yes,and that dysfunctional family the woodentops. I was always wary of Andy, since going to bed in a basket with a bear and a doll was frowned upon in our household.
Then 'Rainbow' came along, and nowadays anything goes.
Oh for the days of 'Tales of the riverbank', but I suppose global warming has put a stop to that being re-released. (sigh.....)
Have fun. x
