I always wear them. So people don't find them comfortable so they are brave enough to go bare. I do agree not everyone should do it because sometimes I want to cover my own eyes.

We live in a "live and let live" society NOW. You seem to be stuck back in the 1920's when people spent time looking down on others. What a shock it was when Mrs. so and so took to driving her own car!

Seriously, you nor I, should be the "fashion" police. We govern in our own house, not in the homes or restaurants of others. How long will it be until they do not want you to be there because you have reached the age of a "spare tire' around the middle and you may think you look good, but you don't. Or maybe your wife is carrying a bit too much weight and the man at the table across from you thinks its tacky that a larger woman would be out in such a fine restaurant. Make the place look shabby. See where this could really go if your idea was prevalent?

Live and let live, enjoy the company of your wife and the great food.

I do love hose/stockings, especially black in the evening, and yes they do dress up and make a woman's legs look wonderful. The only answer I can give is this, it is summer and they are sometimes hot. And also a lot of men like the bare leg, it lead the imagination to wonder from ankle to top of leg in a most provocative way. So does the hose/stockings, but one would have to mentally remove one and not the other. Bare could be sexy just as the stockings, but then again. I would of worn the black stockings and let the mind have a bit of a workout.

The women in question may feel perfectly comfortable the way she is dressed. As long as her dinner-partner is comfortable with how she looks, that is all that really matters.

Hose can be really annoying and uncomfortable. They pull, they run, they look great until they snag on a microscopic splinter, and then your ensemble is ruined!

Etiquette point: you probably shouldn't be checking out other women's legs when you are out at a nice restaurant with your wife. Even if you just "happened" to see it, the fact that you took the extra time to notice may make her feel bad. No woman wants to think she isn't her husband's focus, or that she is being compared to the other ladies present.

The younger generation has started this fad. Even though it is the style I believe when going to formal occasions or even to the office in a nice suit that this calls for panty hose or stockings. It is classic dressing and looks nice. Also, I believe in wearing slips under dresses or skirts. This looks nice and keeps sheer dresses from showing underwear.

I tell you what. The best way for you to find out is to try on a pair of panty hose yourself. No, seriously, put 'em on. Wear them all day long. Do this on a sweltering summer day. You'll get the idea.

Also, think about it: How many articles of clothing does a man have to spend $7 or $8 bucks on (avg.) that you often only get to wear once? Or that is so fragile it might be ruined when you're putting it on? Gets mighty pricey.

And when they stop making the one pair that you absolutely counted on to not only NOT run the minute you put it on, but that also looked dropped dead gorgeous on you, and you have to start all over again, you start asking why you bother. And you might be inclined not to bother quite so much any more.

(How're we doing? Do you need a few more reasons?)

Most women wont wear hose in the summer. Unless you've ever worn a pair, you might not know that they really do get warm. I wear them all year cause I don't get the opportunity to tan my legs much, and if your shoes are a little to tight, hose will actually slim down your feet a little, and help prevent blisters due to rubbing.

Most of us wear open toed shoes in the summer and you can't wear stockings with them. Wearing stockings 24/7 is a middle aged woman thing. They do it to keep it all sucked in. If you have nice legs and feet there is nothing wrong with going bare!!

First of all, your spelling sucks. Second, personally, if I'm dressing up and want to wear a dress or skirt, I HAVE to wear tights or something heavy over my legs because I have a bad skin condition that I have to keep covered up. So you won't catch ME with my legs uncovered. I really envy people who can go out with bare legs. I haven't been able to do that in over 30 years. SSSIIIIIIIIIIIIGH!

Have you ever worn pantyhose on a +30 day with all that heat? Your legs are hot, sticky and itchy. You try it sometime fella. I'd like to see you wear the "hose." Maybe that's why men wear it over their heads.

In the summer when my legs are tanned, I never wear hose. But in the winter, I do. And by the way, my legs look great!
