Is she definately still standing in Estrus? Estrus is normally days 10-15 of the cycle, where they will flag and stand for a male. Metestrus can last for up to 80 days, they are no longer receptive to a male, but may still experience some blood colored discharge during this time. If you are not planning on breeding her , I would have her spayed as the longer she remains intact, the longer the possiblity for pyometra or infection of the uterus. Progesterone levels remain elevated for 8-10 weeks following estrus. If a dog does not become pregnant after several Estrus cycles, the lining of the uterus becomes thickened and forms cysts in it which may lead to Pyo.

After the first 10 days then it is safe to breed your dog but she should be out by now. It will take a little time for the swelling in the vuval to go down though.

It should end any day now. get your dog spayed as this will be the best thing you can do for your dog. It will eliminate the risk of you dog getting cancer
