Help! My school is scamming me!!!?
I need some help!!! I am attending a trade school and my financial aid records are not correct!
The school cost $19,765
Registration fee -100
Scholarship -5,000
Pell Grants -8,100
Total cost is $6,565 in student loans owed
I always get a month statement. Every month has reflected this cost up untill last month. They say I owe them over $13,000!!! I still have my scholarship and pell grants so I don't understand what costs so much?!?!? I spoke with my financial aid office 4 times and she has given me four different totals that I owe. I called FAFSA, Oregon student commission, US bank (loan holder, Sallie Mae, and National Student load Data Base. Unfourthuntely then say that I am at the mercy of my financial aid office because that is as high as you can go!!! What do I do now????? Thanks all

Calm down, first of all.
Call the higher education commission of the state the trande school is located in and complain.
Write the United States Department of Higher Education. Xerox all proof you have and send it with the letter you write. Write your congressman and do the same thing.
Call the FAFSA people. they have a 1800 number on their web site and I am sure that they can either give you help or direct you towards someone who can help you.
And, if you are totally up a high creek. Go to a lawyer. Seriously. Go to a lawyer and try to learn of the legalities of what is going on. You might be surprised that a lawyer will try to help you because you are a young trande school student.
Good luck. I am very sorry you are getting bleeped over. But, do not give up the fight.

Schedule an appointment with the head of ifnancial aid, and let them know you've gotten conflicting info and want an itemized statement of charges and payments,
They may not have recieved your Pell or loan yet, or any of a hundred other reasons, only they can tell you for sure.

Call the Department of Education, and submit a complaint. They will help you. Before you sign up for any of these TRADE SCHOOLS, always check them out with the Department of Education.
Thank you.
I know someone this happened to also. So file a complaint with Department of Education first and see what advice they give you.

majority of trade schools are scams they are rip off artist the point is to give high hopes get as much aid money as they can using you and not caring whether you pass fail or drop out actually they probably prefer dropouts then they keep the money and your stuck paying it back. Go take trade certifications from a community college not the late night infomercial RIP off schools.

If you are absolutely sure you are correct, then I would try to get the dean of the college involved. If you still do not get satisfaction, I would start requesting certified copies of your entire financial record. When asked why, tell them you are going to get an outside opinion on what is going on, including legal advice.

You picked the wrong school. Sounds like a bunch of thieves. Unless they have really high interest. I tried doing the math, but my math is different than theirs. I would demand that they itemize everything. And then take them to court if need be.
