American and European countries do base although supposedly secular are influenced by religion. Our Monarchy was head of the Church of England. George Bush likes to show his conservative Christian values. Italy and other other such countries are heavily religious. Just becuase they don't have the word Catholic or Christian in the name of the Country. But come to think of it, Iran is called Ian, not Islamic Republic of Ian, same with Pakistan etc.

You have a good point there actually! I might be said to be a Muslim and I live in a country with 99% of Muslim population. Tough, it is acceptable that names of some countries sounded strange to you.

The reason for the difference is that those countries claim to apply Islamic Principles in their governmental style whereas US, UK etc. do not claim so.

I believe it is the most unwise think to reflect the religion in politics. And please remember there are countries like mine, who has a majority of Muslims and a secular, democratic state.

do u know why women wear burkha? do u know why we cover our hair? do u know why most muslim men have beards and those long, sometimes worn out clothes? becoz islam beleives in simplicity. they are not to opress someone.

when u look at a bunch of women in burkha or bunch of men with head covered and beards, then what do u see? i now u will see the opression. but u dont see something beyond that point.

A muslim by nature is proud of his faith so he relate everything to his religion even politics also... because, What type of religion it is if it dont touches each and every part of one's life?
