Real Absinthe is illegal in the USA. I don't think there is many countries where you can get the real original stuff.

Yes I have had a reasonable number of quality brands.
No, it wont make you trip, it will make you drunk though.
The "Lafee brand" also consists of two different main recipes, one is close to real absinthe, the other is just a bitters using the name absinth.

The absinthe sold in the United States is 'clean' absinthe. The wordwood is not in it but, rather, a close relative to it. And there's very little in it. If yoou're tripping from this, it's all in your head (pardon the pun).
