Stingray kills 'Crocodile Hunter' Irwin?

i will never forget the image of steve irwin talking to the camera while sharks were in a feeding frenzy all around him while he stood in the water...the guy was a crazy kook but he was fascinating, funny and very entertaining...i kind of felt one day his luck would run out the way he took risks dealing with wildlife but i would never have guessed it would take a stingray to be the culprit....my condolences to his friends and family....he was one of a kind and his legacy will continue as his shows run on animal planet

I m very taken aback and unhappy . nonetheless won't be able to have faith it that The Crocodile Hunter "Steve Irwin" is not extra between us . Its a great loss to d entire worldwide . He performed with the main threatening and deadliest of animals . Even the great crocodiles could not harm him , yet regrettably he became killed with the help of basically a stingray . he would be in our memory for an prolonged time and could be neglected a great deal. might his soul relax in peace.

I think it is a tragic accident that will affect alot of people.My kids have watched Steve Irwin from the time my 21 year old was 7 years old and my 2 youngest,10& 12 watched him all the time.It is a sad day to hear about a wild life icon to die at such an early age,but he died at what he loved to do.

No. Maybe by a croc or snake or any other reptile, which were his passion, but definately not a sting ray! The odds of him dying like this are very rare, only 3 sting ray deaths in Australia in the last 100 years! What a sad way to go.

Dear, people die EVERY day around the globe, the very young to the very old. Irwin led a high risk lifestyle. Everyone posting here will eventually die one way or another. Irwin's family should be the only one's concerned aboout his demise, however, it is of course tragic. our lives go on regardless. Theirs will stall out for a time. Let us move on PLEASE!

I think that it is very sad. He was an awesome guy and my son loved watching his shows as I did as well. I think that it is very unfortunate but he did die doing what he lived and loved. I feel very sad for his wife and children. He will be greatly missed here and I am sure more so in Australia. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. His legacy will go on for many years to come.

I think it was bound to happen sooner or later, but he died loving what he did and not all of us can say that! He also knew what he was doing had risks. Now he can RIP and take care of all the animals in heaven like my 4 yr old son said!

Yes, as per the documentary "faces of death" and as per "final destination" and above all as per the Wish of the Creator, it was the exact way, he was to depart, but not many are born with the spirit of the earth to yield results for helpless creatures on the face of earth. May God place him in High Places.

i was thinking it was pretty lame. for a guy who deals with dangerous crocodiles all the time, and he gets killed by a stingray? cruel irony... but of course it was his destiny, how could it not be?
