Do people care more about some crocodile guy than the men fighting in Iraq?
Let's put things in perspective here okay!!!
Even his own people said it would happen someday. I hope the troops in Iraq dying everyday get some love. Bush sure isn't giving them it.
BAGHDAD, Iraq - Authorities found the tortured, blindfolded bodies of 33 men scattered across Baghdad Monday and the U.S.-led coalition said eight troops had died, a day after Iraq said the capture of a top terror suspect would reduce violence.
I saw 100's of posts on the TV star, and not a fraction if any about the troops. Fair and balanced? Or not enough glitz?

Firstly no ones life is any less valuable than any one elses. Secondly, look to George Bush to solve the problems he has created. People in and from Iraq are thought of and prayed for everyday. And as one of his own people, I never in a million years thought his death would result from his work. He may have come across as a joker, but he was a knowledgeable and careful man. No fool. Steve's passion for wildlife worldwide and for conservation has made him a very special person, well loved in Australia and around the world and people are just voicing their admiration and disbelief. He is known as the croc hunter but his understanding and love and knowledge of all animals was unbelievable. The outpouring worldwide at his passing and the deep sorrow felt by many just show the impact of what one single person can achieve and how one person can accomplish change. We are mourning Steve for his efforts but also because he was an incredible human being.

You should be ashamed! How can you compare him to the troops in Iraq? I have a nephew in Iraq and a day doesn't go by that I don't think about him and the other troops. Steve Irwin deserves the respect in death just as much. He was a protector of animals. He was trying to educate the world with his documentaries. He will be greatly missed.

I don't think that most people care more about one than the other. That's like comparing apples to oranges.
It's just that Steve Irwin's death just happened. He leaves a huge legacy behind. I am referring to his efforts to preserve wildlife habitats. He brought the amazing world of crocodiles (and other critters) into our living-rooms.
I pray for our troops in Iraq, and elsewhere around the globe, every day. President Bush does care about our troops. He also cares about all the citizens of the US. If we don't fight the war on terror overseas, we will definitely be fighting it in our own streets. If we allow evil to gain a foothold, we are all lost. God bless!

I mourn everyones death but I think the answer is that the world only ever had 1 ausie guy who stood up to aligators and snakes like he did and after atew months the world got used to the troops in iraq, in the beggining the troops were mourned and were continuously spoken about but what to do?? we live in a world that wants 24 hour action and not reptitive things....

Those men and women dying in Iraq have always gotten love and support. But, they do not need to be on the tip of everyones tongue. Steve was a great educator and cared alot about animals, so yes people have the right to mourn someone other than those who choose to be in Iraq.

The real truth is that most people don't care about the troops in Iraq! if they did they would be demanding that we come to a resolution of some sorts. as long as their sons and daughters aren't fighting no one gives a damn. 2000,3000,10000 Is just a number to most preoccupied Americans anymore. the Iraq war was lost from the start as most illegitimate things are. Steve Irwin's death is a tragedy, but will be forgotten just as fast as our troops have been forgotten!!!!

It's not the fact that they care more about the crocodile guy than the men and women in Iraq... It's more of a fact that more people could relate to the Crocodile guy, mainly because of his show on TV, he was a man he dare to learn about animals. This doesn't make the men and women in Iraq less important, or less cared about. Though many of them die, not to many people could relate to that certain person, or heard specifically their names. Also our society is a little screwed up on what we considered to be important.
God bless the trops over there and their families back home.

You not looking at what the U.S troops are doing to the Iraqi's, Wouldnt you want payback if someone came and killed and totured you family? You wont esaclly be over the moon now will you? Nevertheless it is wrong to torture, my advice to you is to see both sides of the crissis in Iraq instead of listening to those bias media correspondents

While Steve Irwin was a pop icon and quite important, the troops fighting for us are far more vital and important. We as a nation and as a world should pray and honor those who go to war for the nation.

Anything to use the opportunity to bash Bush. The croc guy brought a lot of information and interest in conservation to people that normally wouldn't give a crap. There is a world that exist outside the problems in Iraq. we all live in it do you?
