Did you know that Bush's Baked Beans started out as a product from Oklahoma?
It was showcased once at the Oklahoma State Fair in the "Made in Oklahoma" display. Don't ask me how I know this, but I do.

Because the ham bacon is only a flavoring it's the beans that are the star of the show.

All brands of pork and beans have just one piece of fat in them. It's been this way for at least 50 years. If you are lucky it's a piece of pork or bacon. I think it's just for tradition. I've never seen any brand with more than one piece.

It comes with only piece because it's their to infuse the beans and sauce with the taste while it is being heated up during preparation
