Just wondering..do black people (African Americans) ever get sick of it when other African Americans always?

resort to the race card? I'm just wondering if people of their own race get annoyed with it too at some point and just say "let it go".

And please don't call me racist in your posts cause it's a valid question.

Update:

I just realized no matter what you put on here, someone will be offended. I used the term African American to NOT offend anyone (isn't black person an offense term in itself??). and someone's gotta talk about me.

Update 2:

Oh and to Bruce B - go play on your myspace account.

Update 3:

Aptoslady-I really don't like you. I see all the rude answers you constantly leave everyone. You are a little B I T C H!! or more than likely a big B I T C H. Bring it!!

Of course we do! I'm black and I mostly hear that excuse from men who are doing nothing with their lives saying, "the white man is bringing me down." Sometimes it's valid but in some cases, I see lazy people looking for excuses for their failure BUT...All races do the same thing, not just blacks.

Funny story; when I was in Africa I was talking with a gentleman there and he told me, "I do not understand why Black Americans call themselves African American. I can not understand a word they say and they don't even speak Swahili, how can you be African if you do not speak Swahili?" I could not help but laugh. I was subjected to racism a month ago, and did not like it. I hate that because I am white I have to have a heart full of hatred, or so it is believed. I have no less love for my black, white, brown, or red brothers....I honestly do not care what color a persons skin is, but since I am white I am automatically a racist? I don't get it.

What they have been taught is that everyone but them is a racist. I'm Afican-American but read on before you think I'm black. I'm as white as white can get but I was born in Mubate, South Africa. My dad was a salesman for ship batteries. So, do I get all the benefits of being an African-American; even the race card when I don't want to be accountable for something bad that I have done?

life is now far for one and all. illegals should be hunted down and sent home. i am a native American and believe that if you here born here you are from here. the race card from young people today is @#$%'ed up. i am not sure but i am willing to guess that no one alive today has been a slave. if any one has a real right to ***** its the Indians. the white man came and invaded his land and from then on **** happened. every one should have stayed home. if any one had the urge to visit that's what thay should have done. then go home. in my oppion any black person today that uses the race card, is a racest in general and will contuine to use this excuse for not being man enough or girl enough to take control of there one lifes

Yes sometimes the race card is used when I think it shouldnt but like you say some things just need to be left alone and there are some that use the race card when it is not necessary and wont let it go.

I never heard blacks use this so-called race card. Maybe because some only use it in white folfs presents. But then again i have to hear them use it. Maybe they feel someone was being racist maybe not. But I don't know or heard it so I can't be sick of it.

in my experience, some black people do get annoyed with other black people that constantly use the race card. i was married to one of those people. i was sick of it. the people that get tired of it are the people that never do it. they have told me that they do it because they have to use that as an excuse for their behavior. i have seen plenty examples of racism & i know what is & what is'nt the real thing. you can usually tell by their attitude & the seriousness of the issue. just my opinion.

I have found there are more racial issues with blacks than there are with whites. The blacks need to "let it go". The 60's are over, WE didn't enslave you, THEY did. There are as many opportunities in this Country for blacks as there have ever been for whites. I call a black person black, that's what they are. I feel no shame in it. I am called white, because I am white and I am not offended.

Black people won't ever be sick of it because it is the goose that lays the golden egg for them. That's like getting tired of the ATM always giving you money when you ask for it.

(i know... it's not an answer to the question, but i couldn't help it. i just refuse to acknowledge the term 'african american' as being legit.
