we have an 89 ford bronco was always running fine until one day it would not start it almost does , so we?

took it to pep boy they put it on that diagnostic machine to check it they put altenater ,starter ,you name it 800.00 bucks still doing the same thing every once in a while it will start but will end up leaving us stranded .if we let it sit a few hours it will start again ,we took it back to pep boy 5 times and they dont know what it is refuse to give us money back anyone know what it might be ?

    check the dist cap and fire pep boys

    There are several possibilities. 1 the short battery cable from the positive battery terminal to the starter solenoid 2 ignition module

    3 the pickup coil under the rotor in the distributor 4 a weak battery.

    it's a ford and ford's will be ford's they always had a bad rep ya need a chevy, i know this because i had a 91 ford escort and the only thing that worked good was the headlights. so we took the escort and escorted it right to the junk yard and it's probably a chevy now!

    Maybe the battery has a dead cell
