I have several islamic friends. You see, kids, in college we practice tolerance and integration of diversity. Instead of being ignorant and hateful of those that are different, we actually try to learn about those that are different and try to understand their way of thinking, how they see the world. We think it is exciting that for those brief moments when we are with these different people, we can almost see the world through a different set of eyes.

How can you hate or distrust someone just because of their religion? Most people of almost all religions are just members of their religion by birth, and try not to get too religious. In the holy book of Islam, it warns against hatred toward others, and strictly warns against killing of innocent civilians, and to only engage in war to protect the freedom of practicing Islam. Most Muslims don't know these things, because there is an evil culture among non-Arab Muslims of the third world to read the Quran in Arabic, even though the Quran says that it must be read to be understood and not taken as a sport, and many of them memorize it in Arabic, thinking they are doing a good deed. The Quran says to be obedient to parents unless they tell you to do something wrong, maybe thats why many non-Arab Muslim parents send their children to schools to memorixe the Quran in Arabic, a language they don't understand, fooling them into believing that they will get a better chance of going to heaven by memorizing the Quran in a foreign language they don't understand. No wonder many of these non-Arab Muslims become terrorists, because they are taught that Islam is the correct religion, because it is. And many Muslim converts are more religious than most non-Arabs born Muslims, because they read the entire Quran, understanding it, before converting.
Muslims who use terrorism (killing innocent civilians) are hypocrites, and the Quran says hypocrites will be closest to the fire in hell, and that hypocrites are the real enemies of Islam. And the Quran says there is no compulsion in religion, so it is not Islamic for al-Qaida to intimidate people into believing in Islam. The great wars of conquest by the Early Muslims were for the spreading of freedom of practice of Islam, each empire they attacked was asked to accept Islam or at least allow Islam to be preached and practiced among its people. Also the Quran says that one must travel to another land if one can not properly practice Islam where one already resides, that God made the Earth spacious.
The use of Islam for the Palestinian, Chechnyan, and Pashtun (Taliban) cause, is wrong, because they use Islam to fight wars for land, but Islam does not allow to kill to gain land only for fighting against oppression of Islam. Suicide bombing is against Islam, because the Quran says not to commit suicide, because God is merciful.

to respond to your first question, sir, this is because of the fact Muslims (with all due appreciate) earned the hostility of the folk around them. I hail from Basilan. attempt googling the situation and you will discover each thing there is to understand on the subject of the 'conflict' right here which numerous interpret actually. regrettably, the assumption of the observe 'Muslim' for many folk submit to unfavorable connotations because of the fact of their direct or oblique journey with the folk symbolised with the help of the observe. to assert in any different case is to negate -your- perspectives and rationalization of interfaith relationships. And if the Qur'an did command Muslims to enable non-muslims be, then why is it that contained in maximum folk of the Muslim worldwide, in very almost all Muslim aspects, why is it that non-muslims are persecuted, hounded? toddlers stay in concern, adult men are killed on a month-to-month foundation, women raped. If the Qur'an (lower back, with all due appreciate) does not enable that style of artwork, then why does this happen on a grander scale than in comparison to what happens interior the West right this moment? I actual have experienced brutality on the hands of your human beings, sir, and that i don't understand why I had to be knifed, kicked, then left for ineffective basically because of the fact I went out of my living house on a Friday. besides the undeniable fact that that does no longer recommend that my lack of ability to understand additionally indicators my lack of ability to purpose to forgive what they did to me and attempt to bypass it off because of the fact the lack of know-how of upset human beings. i don't understand why human beings hate one yet another, relatively whilst it includes your faith, sir. yet i understand this: it takes each variety to make a worldwide. And this is not as much as me-- I neither have the spectacular nor the conviction-- to make a judgement of the folk who've so trodden upon my concept, my individual, and my satisfaction. I basically wish which you already know my factor, digressing nonetheless my writing grew to become into... good day, sir.

My wife is a Muslim. I am a Muslim. Her parents and relatives are Muslims. My Dad is Christian. My sons are Christian. Pretty much everyone I work with, my friends, peopel I encounter are Christian. I have not tried to harm any of those mentioned above and none of those have tried to harm me. I used to be Protestant (Christian) and wondered why Catholics and Protestants killed each other in Ireland. But it did not make me fear Catholics hear in the US.

I don't need to have a personal relationship with suicide bomber or a murderer in order to know that I do not like him and do not want to get to know him...
And yes, I have known several muslims and felt , at best, neutral about them....

I dated a woman from Turkey once.
Hot, lovely, and religion didn't have to do with anything.
