how does VSS client accessthe database over the internet?

HI,

I have installed VSS 2005 and I want to access the database via internet. Basically I have enabled the internet access option for the same database and I can see the SourceSafe site in IIS.and I am not able to use it and log in or browse and log in.how do I use the internet access.

How does client access work in this case.or which client do I use to access the database over the internet.
