Arrogance/egotism/elitism and all the rest that that combination implies sometimes seems to be (unfortunately) a successful business and occasionally personal strategy.
I could not live with myself, or for that matter, carry it off very well, so I just create distance between myself and the *anus flameus* and read the Desiderata which contains the advisory: Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexatious to the spirit.
The MOST attractive combination of features is capability and competence, with a fair shake of modesty.

You can be very self- confident without being arrogant and snobbish. Then that is a turn on.

it's good to take pride in your accomplishments, but using your accomplishments to elevate your social status while stepping over those who haven't accomplished as much is a turn off.
i like successful men who have something to be proud about. i'd like to associate pride with dignity, but these two qualities don't often go hand in hand. instead, pride usually comes with conceit, and no one wants a conceited man.

I find it the biggest turn off ever!!! I think it just depends on the individual.
