    Yes, green_meklar is right. I would however like to add that there are countries that also speak French even if it's not the official language. I believe (I could be wrong) that there are 61 countries around the world that speak French.

    Quebec and New Brunswick in Canada--mostly. There are some French-speakers in all the provinces, and everyone has to learn French for at least a few years in school.

    Switzerland has French as one of its official languages; about 25% of Swiss are French-speaking.

    Much of Africa--Senegal, Tunisia, Morocco, Cote d'Ivoire.
