Well, if you already washed and dried it, I don't know, but if you haven't I find that Dawn dishsoap will get virtually anything out of anywhere. It is the most amazing stuff in the world.

( It has to be Dawn, no others that I have tried work )

  • You need to try something that works as a degreaser. Lipstick and lip gloss are petroleum based so I'd try Simple Green on it. You should be able to get it at Wal-Mart. If it's not in the household cleaning aisle it's probably in the automotive section. The only downside to using Simple Green is that it can stain lighter colored clothing if you let it sit too long. Also, it might take a couple of applications to get all the lip gloss out. Another old time degreasing trick is to empty a can of Coke in the washer along with the spot treatment and your laundry soap. My grandma uses all these tricks to get grease out of clothes and she swears by them. Best of luck!!

I think that the method recommended for removing lipstick stains should work Here it is ...

Lipstick is a dye in an oily base. Therefore, a solvent based remover is the only type that will remove it. Water based or wet spotters will only spread and set the stain.

Rub in a samll amount of vegetable or mineral oil onto the affected areas and allow it to soak for 15 minutes.

Blot excess oils with an absorbent paper towel or terry cloth.

Then sponge in a solution of 50% ammonia with water (unless the fabric is silk or wool).

Rinse thoroughly with cool water and wring out.

Sponge remaining affected areas liberally with isopropyl rubbing alcohol.

Apply laundry pre treat and launder washables in hot water.

These sites have more suggestions. I hope this helps.

Lip gloss is oil based, so you need to use dish soap to get it out with cold water by hand. If you have already put it through the dryer, it may not come out.
