ok,now what?is new orleans out of control?

with the situaiton in n.o. being the way it is,would you even consider going to the french quater for a good time if you've never been before?with a rash of killings in the last two months,about 13 in one weekend!!what is your view?

    looks they are still quite a bit away from bringing the place back to what it was.... perhaps by next year things will be more normal... they are still in such a mess , from what I've seen the destruction still litters the streets and no re-construction has really begun..there is still too much financial, physical, and emotional devastation that has not been solved.. nothing is stable there right now... I feel really bad for what the people have been through and have to endure... but to visit now ? no.... not yet...

    I have been to New Orleans about 3 weeks ago and there is plenty of security, we all had a good time. Of course we were back at the hotel by 9:00 p.m.

    The drug problems are really bad right now,CRACK is the main drug down there. Other than that, its ok
