No help on specific diets chick I'm sorry, I have the same problems - though hopefully yours got diagnosed quick than mine (just the 7 years it took them!)
I have tried Orlistat (Xenical) and they do work (available on prescription and some Boots stores) but the side effects are nasty, although it might be something to bear in mind.
If you do manage to find a suitable diet please let me know - the only thing I can add which might help is to say try and get some pure sea kelp extract (I get mine from healthspan - www.healthspan.co.uk) - while this doesn't help with the insulin problem, it does stimulate your thyroid into increased activity which does help weight loss. I also have a copy of the GI diet on e-book if you want it - drop me a mail if you do.
Good luck - no-one knows how rotten PCOS is till they have it! x x

Many common natural remedies are claimed to have blood sugar lowering properties that make them useful for people with or at high risk of diabetes. Learn here https://tr.im/YYO5F
A number of clinical studies have been carried out in recent years that show potential links between herbal therapies and improved blood glucose control, which has led to an increase in people with diabetes using these more 'natural' ingredients to help manage their condition.

i have known quite a few people who suffer with the symptoms caused by pcos. they get annoyed with teh fact that when they put on weight it is easier for them to do and more difficult to get rid of it. when they loose weight, they get loads of spots. not to mention difficulot periods.
i would advise you not to seek some uncorroborated diet from the internet but instead ask your dr to refer you to a state registered dietitian. if your dr doesnt do this, contact the place where you were diagnosed with pcos (probably a gynae dept with an ultrasound?). ask them for advice and support. if they cant be bothered, contact the mayo clinic in minesota, usa. they have specialists who are have the latest up to date info on this condition and therefore are best placed in advising how best to manage it rather than giving some quack advice like 'orh justgo lose some weight' etc.
btw a drug called metformin can help deal with your insulin intolerance (which is similar to a diabetic response) and has been successfully used on many ppl with pcos.
good luck.

Always have vegetables on palm. Saute a big bag of frozen mixed vegetables in organic olive oil and garlic. Add some red pepper or maybe turmeric for additional flavor along with separate into portion-sized containers for your fridge.

My wife has the same condition and has tried many diets non of which have been very successful, the best was the Atkins which is very effective if you can stick to it .. but do not follow it to the tee as it has side effects due to only eating carbs .. you do need to eat veg etc as well but in small portions.
Also the key she has found is lots of exercise.
overall I would agree with the comment below thoi, see a registered dietition.

Here is my file preview for Polycystic Ovary Syndrome - PCOS...
===============================================
...File Preview...
My PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) has almost disappeared with a 100% raw diet. After 6 months of raw vegan, I now ovulate regularly, menstruate regularly, have no lethargy, no abdominal pain, my acne is almost gone, and body hair is lessened. I think in 6 more months this will be totally gone!!!!!!
--------------------------------------------------
I was diagnosed with PCOS. I have been raw for over two years and most of my symptoms went away within the first three months of being raw. In the first month I had my first period without birth control pills, by the third month the cysts on my ovaries were gone and I started to ovulate, also facial hair decreased and so did acne and I lost 150 pounds.

PCOS is another woman's problem caused by high levels of estrogens in the body.
PCOS is a leading cause of female infertility due to excessive estrogens. Excessive estrogens are often the result of the liver's failure to eliminate them efficiently.
The elevated estrogen level caused by a weak liver may not be detected in blood tests because blood estrogen levels do not necessarily reflect estrogen levels in tissues. Estrogen levels in the tissues cannot be measured.
...unlike liver inflammation or infections which show elevated liver enzyme levels in blood due to enzymes released from ruptured liver cells, liver congestion or weakness cannot be detected in blood tests. ...blood tests will not reveal liver congestion or weakness.
Chinese medicine does not address hormone problems and conventional medicine does not address liver congestion problems.
Pain is the result of blood stagnation.
--------------------------------------------------
I did not have a period before going raw that was not drug induced via synthetic hormones. I had polycystic ovarian syndrome and so it was not an indication of health that I was not having a period. Once raw, the first month I started having a regular period with no drugs. My period was quite heavy at first lasting up to four day with lots of blood and clots but not painful. Now after about 4 years it is hardly noticable. Now it lasts about 2 days, one or two tiny clots or none at all, very light flow.
--------------------------------------------------------------
...when women with polycystic ovary syndrome, a condition that causes an excess of insulin, were treated with the insulin-reducing drug metformin, acne was improved.
In polycystic ovary syndrome, which is diagnosed in women who are obese and have acne, it is clear that elevated insulin levels are a major factor.
--------------------------------------------------------------
One potential side effect in long-term users of Metformin, is that it may cause malabsorption of vitamin B12

i dont' really know about the syndrome, but what i can suggest u is probably try to eat low Glycemix index carbohydrate food, for example eat brown rice rather than white rice. Food with lower glycemix index release glucose more slowly, so that does not induce your insulin problem. try to consult to doctor is the best

My wife has it, so she tried South Beach, lost 10 pounds, within 6 months gained it back. I don't buy any junk food anymore for her. I would go to a nutritionist to set up a meal plan.
