it is a multifunction machine connected to a windows xp OS via USB. i have uninstalled and reinstalled with updated drivers to try and get it to scan. whilst the control centre software comes up (including scan option), it does not recognise any scanning device attached to the pc even though it recognises the printer and fax. any ideas on how to get it to recognise the scanner as well please?

nits are the eggs and lice are the insects. also does anyone know how many nits an average lice lay and how long does that take? thanks

It is a Sony Vaio and it has a light for bluetooth next to the switch for turning wireless on and off.

The bluetooth light is off and I do not know how to switch it on. I have tried turning wireless on and off and also restarting.

I have gone to Programs/Bluetooth/Bluetooth Settings and opened the Bluetooth Settings box. When I try and do anything at all with it it says "Bluetooth device is not ready".

How can I switch it on so that it is ready. Detailed steps please. Thanks.

It will be for a summer holiday with my extended family. There will be a total headcount of 14 adults and 10 kids (mostly toddlers but some a little older).

May be best to go for a couple of vehicles due to the amount of people.

Is it due to a lack of calcium? I was on a dairy free diet for just under a year whilst nursing my baby upon the paediatrician's advice (due to baby's dairy allergy). My doctor said that i would not need calcium supplements as my body would retain calcium and recover the loss when i was back on a dairy rich diet. I am now but my teeth look less solid i.e. the parts near the gums are look more solid but the parts near the bottom look more transparent.

Btw i usually use a straw when drinking fizzy drinks and sometimes with fruit juices too. So i don't think it is a food acid erosion thing, but could be wrong.

A friend has a problem that I thought someone here might help with. He got a speeding ticket for doing 40mph in a 30mph zone. He has received notice for a £60.00 fine & 3 points on his license. He already has 3 points and only got his UK driving license last September. The rule is that if 6 points are added to a license less than 2 years old, the license will be revoked.

He is an experienced driver (20 years+) in the USA & other countries. He drove frequently last year (13000 miles on the clock for last year) most of which was business related commuting {the greater the drive the greater the chance of getting tickets?} He is self employed and needs to drive/commute (sometimes with passengers) quite frequently. So revoking his licence may impact his business.

Can he appeal /challenge the points on the basis that (a) he is not a new driver with less than 2 years experience. (b) instead of the addition of 3 more points he is happy to pay an increased fine.

I've got some guests coming from Canada in a few weeks and they have three kids so I thought this would be the best way to ferry us all around whilst they are here.
