how can i get curls that don't look so perfect?

Fall asleep with your hair wet...When you wake up, just tossle your hair and it wont be curly but it will be wavy...

thats the exact same hairstlye it did today!

i don't know if this way will work for you, but you can try it! (it does require a curling iron though, even though you think it looks fake, you can barely tell.)

take a shower, and wash your hair but don't condition so it'll be kind of tangly. get out of the shower, DON'T brush or comb your hair. but carefully scrunch it and make sure it's still damp or almost dry when you go to sleep. in the morning it should be kind of messy/wavy looking. i finish it off with lightly curling only two or three little pieces of hair. it gives it a fresh, kind of messy waved look. if you want you can put hairspray, but i don't use it.

If you use a curling iron to achieve the curls, then I'd spray with a moveable hair spray (like finesse) and then just scrunch them and/or toss your head. That'll make them look a little messy, but the hairspray will help hold the curl.

Mousse and baby oil- the baby oil is b/c in this weather ur hair will probably dry out- and mousse perfectsthe curls yet keeps the natural look..you can just use something thin and long -to separate the curls-- if you want to make it a lil more messy :]

Use the curling iron, but use a larger barrel and shake your head around afterward to kinda wear them out. The larger barrel won't make them look like perfect curls...more like a curly wave.

this is what i do

i take a shower and wash my hair before bed time:

get out

brush hair.

blow dry till its almost completely dry or air dry

take hair into sections:

and twist them:

put a hair bow in each of the sections:

go to bed

get up

hairspry it and mousse/gel the parts that stick up and tousle you hands through it

perfect curls

if you use a curling iron and then tip your head upside down and mess it up it will look good. you could put your hair in braids while it's wet and sleep with them in, take it out in the morning.

Curling iron and scrunch I reckon.

after using the curling iron, tousle gently

after you curl.... lean forward ..head down .and push hair forward...mess with finger tips... bring head back... and fluff with fingers.. like picking something out of hair... curls are in a more messy ..loose... if real long.. hair shaking forward is good
