Do any one tell me clearly how short messaging service i.e sms is working.?
i need to know the procedure that a message is sent from one mobile and how it is reaching to the destination mobile.. Sure 10 points for who tell them to me clearly.. am waiting soon reply..

It's simple, SMS uses the space in other calls to travel backwards and forwards on the network.
So you send an SMS, it slots into the empty part of a voice call (i.e. when someone else is not talking, the signal being digital is just a load of 0's the SMS is inserted into these 0's) this is then sent to the nearest base station (Base Transciever Station) in the cell your are in, this is then routed by an MTSO on to the cell in which your friend is standing and sent to their phone on the back of someone else's call in the cell from their local BTS.

Similar to how your voice is transferred through landline phone, the only difference being, in case of mobile, the datas are transmitted without any wires, with the help of transmitter/reciever antenna built in it.
